In a resounding commitment to the safety and well-being of its patients and staff, Chirayu National Hospital & Medical Institute (CNHMI) recently marked a significant milestone with the successful completion of a comprehensive Basic Fire Safety Training and Mock Drill. The initiative, conducted with active participation from 58 dedicated staff members representing various hospital departments, reflects the institution's unwavering dedication to safety excellence.
The success of this crucial endeavor can be attributed to the expertise and leadership of Mr. Anil Silwal, the distinguished ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) Analyst at CNHMI. Serving as the conductor of the training session, Mr. Silwal's wealth of knowledge in safety protocols and emergency response strategies played a pivotal role in equipping staff members with the necessary skills for a prompt and secure reaction in the unlikely event of a fire emergency.
The training session, conducted under Mr. Silwal's guidance, commenced with a focus on enhancing awareness among staff regarding the different classes of fires. This foundational understanding is crucial for implementing appropriate response strategies tailored to the specific nature of each fire class. The participants were then provided in-depth knowledge on the various types of fire extinguishers available and their specific applications, empowering them to make informed decisions during emergencies.
Central to the training was an emphasis on the life-saving aspect of fire safety, encompassing the protection of patients, staff, caretakers, and visitors within the hospital premises. The session also highlighted the broader impact of fire incidents, underscoring the importance of safeguarding hospital property, assets, and equipment.
Emergency evacuation procedures were a key focus, ensuring that participants were familiarized with protocols for a well-organized and efficient response in the event of a fire emergency. The comprehensive training covered topics such as the chemistry of fire, categorization of fires into classes, exploration of different fire extinguisher types, understanding fire extinguisher anatomy, practical usage demonstrations, and hands-on training.
The collaborative effort involved the Dolma Team, led by Mr. Ritesh Subba, whose support played a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth execution of the training. The active participation and commitment of the hospital staff demonstrated not only their professionalism but also their essential contribution to fostering a robust culture of safety at Chirayu National Hospital.
As CNHMI continues its commitment to prioritize safety, the training session serves as a testament to the shared responsibility upheld by the entire hospital community. With a well-informed and prepared team, the institution is poised to maintain the highest standards of safety and preparedness.
